Experience the Rush
The upcoming 2024 Rush Festival promises a weekend brimming with entertainment and activities for the entire family. The Rush Festival will feature a wide range of activities to suit individuals of all ages and interests, across three days in the beautiful town of Charters Towers in North Queensland. Running from the 11th through to the 13th of October, the Rush Festival provides a fun weekend for the locals as well as showcasing the region for visitors and boosting the local economy.
Festivities will commence on Friday, 11 October with the annual Twilight Markets, where attendees will be able to a delicious smorgasbord of tasty treats at the Salt Lane Food Court while indulging in a night of craft, workshop and browsing the Market stalls for a bargain.
Saturday’s highlight will be The Goldrush Concert, taking place at the Charters Towers Showgrounds, this all-ages Music Festival will see a selection of Australia’s most revered bands take to the stage for a day and night full of live music. This year’s band roster includes Thirsty Merc, Rogue Traders, Joe Camilleri & The Black Sorrows along with Townsville band Shots Fired who are back for their third appearance.

On Sunday, the Towers Rush will celebrate its 10th year and will see competitors compete in an '“Amazing Race” style event. This popular scavenger hunt sees teams of all ages and abilities provided with a map and a clue sheet and given four hours to race to as many checkpoints and complete as many challenges as they can within that time frame. Past years challenges have included activities such as abseiling from heritage buildings, constructing food masterpieces, paddling the mighty Burdekin River, completing puzzles, and much more.
